NEW SCAVENGER HUNT---OCTOBER 17, 2008

The Board of Family Life would like to invite everyone to join in a Congregational Scavenger Hunt on Friday, October 17th at 6pm. We will start at Zion with a potluck dinner. Bring your favorite dish to pass and stratagey! From there, teams of 2-5 will embark on a race around Mt. Pleasant to be the first to complete all clues. Is speed not your strong point? We will be giving out two sets of prizes. One to the team that successfully completes all clues and arrives across the finish line at Zion first, and another to the team that gets randomly drawn from all the teams that have successfully completed all clues. Each team must have a digital camera, $5.00 in cash, and a vehicle to travel in.  Sign your team up on the posted sign up sheets or call Brandi (989-506-5434) or Krista (989-644-2899). If you want to be on a team but do not have anyone to be on a team with, still sign up and we will find a team for you. We also need volunteers to be at different checkpoints throughout Mt. Pleasant. If you want to be a part of the fun in this way, please sign up where indicated on the sheet or call. Babysitting will be provided. Thanks!

Our first annual scavenger hunt was a huge success (for the most part)! We had such a great time. The team of Kyle and Sherry Camp, Joe Claybaugh, and Don Bucholz won the scavenger hunt against all odds. Brandi forgot to give them a clue, and when they reached the finish line they had to go back and complete the missing task. Even with that obstacle in their way, they still managed to come in first place. They only beat the team of Melissa Greenlee, Chris, Kristin Priebe, and Rick J. by a few seconds because that team had a wrong item and were penalized two minutes! Wow, what an exciting finish! Other teams included [Pastor and Ann Reith, with Linda and Chris Hanely], [Diane, Tom, and Jill Prenkert with Doris and Ken Johnson], and [Lee and Janah Aldrich]. All did an awsome job. Thank you so much to all who participated. We plan to do another scavenger hunt in the fall and then continue to do so anually as long as interest is there. So, tell everyone you know what a fun time it was, and be prepared for some new challenges in the Fall, and some fierce competition!
